I'm still trying to find a good replacement for "disk mastering" as used in relationship of creating a master ISO image. I used disk imaging in a recent video but that's not exactly a great replacement since imaging a disk and mastering it are different in my mind.
I'm not sure if that usage is problematic, to be honest. I asked about this recently (and similar cases, like audio mastering) and didn't really get pushback. The word "slave" is a direct reference to slavery, but the word "master" when not juxtaposed with "slave" isn't AFAICS.
I'm open to opinions opposing that usage (especially from Black folks), I just don't really have any at the moment, so I'm waiting and seeing rather than trying to push for alternatives for all usages of that word.
