On CDs at least they had the loudness excuse! A track crushed louder played at the *same peak level* as a more dynamic track will perceptually sound "better" because our shitty ears like loud. But on Spotify that is all gone, gone, gone!

This is japanese mastering for you in a nutshell for the past 20+ years or so. It’s insane! And the problem is the japanese market has some cool exclusive tracks alot of the times for releases I like. So you can’t switch to another region for the proper quality!
