Well, I got it running for the most part. Here’s Bad Apple on taskmgr on a very large computer. SMT had to be disabled to ensure that the image displays properly as the kernel scheduler handler those logical threads differently than physical cores.pic.twitter.com/QMchANZy9W

I've seen a smoother version of this, maybe Epyc != Threadripper does?

The smoother version that has been making the rounds is fake (it never actually used CPU usage, it was done via video editing). This one is real.

What if the task manager is sped up or run initial video slower and then the video can be sped up to make it smoother. That's how the other video is most likely made

But have you seen those usage numbers? They are very repetitive, and they don't even match the colors!https://twitter.com/marcan42/status/1275697641679192064 …

Hector Martin @marcan42Whoever faked that Bad Apple!! task manager video didn't even do a good job. There are a bunch of glitches, including this totally static segment halfway through that was supposed to be about one second of pure white, but ended up with bands including 5 shades of "77%". Faaaaake. pic.twitter.com/zvD5RjopKTShow this thread1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

Yeah, the original video claims to be sped up 5 times, but looking at frames like that it's clearly faked, not sped up. It's actually quite easy to fake this kind of thing, even perfectly.

Also, more evidence. Look at the GHz indicator in the top left. That's after the CPU usage, which should be the average of all CPU usages. 0% to 100%. That means the GHz indicator should move left and right, depending on whether the global usage is 0-9% 11-99% 100%. It doesn't.
