so I saw a bottle of something I’d never seen before: “wrinkle releaser.” I was skeptical but it was cheap so I bought some and… it actually works really well? you just spray cloth and pull it taut and it will set that waypic.twitter.com/24AQA6us7Z

Plain water also works btw. Spray it on, then hang clothes or just wear them. Body heat helps it dry quicker.

Commercial wrinkle releasers work the same way, basically water + a surfactant/wetting agent to make it penetrate evenly into the fabric without heat/steam (and fragrances, so I can’t use them…) You can make a DIY one with heavily diluted conditioner if your skin tolerates it

Dilute fabric softener will also work Unfortunately there aren’t really any volatile surfactants (i.e. that will just evaporate off) that are also safe for home use, so they’re all going to leave some kind of residue on clothing

My method for wrinkle-free clothing is only half tumble drying, then taking them out while still slightly damp and warm, and hanging them. Works great. I don't even own an iron.

Works great if you have a dryer you can conveniently just toss things in for a minute, sometimes with a damp hand towel—used to be my preferred method too until apartment living Depends somewhat on the fabric tho

Yeah, I just set my combo washer-dryer to 30 min (not enough to fully dry a full load) then hang the clothes in the bathroom (Japanese ones often have a drying function that runs hot air). 2h later everything's dry and wrinkle-free.
