      If you can't handle, or don't care, or are okay with your software piling up problems, that's *fine*, but you don't get to cheat and make the open issue count go down anyway. That's just insulting your existing users and misleading new ones.

      Noone is pretending it's not a bug anymore, they're just not holding it in their bucktracker and TODO list. This is some gross entitlement where you think that building an OSS project makes someone your servant to command around. It's their project, their choice.

      Nobody is forcing you to fix the bug, just don't insult me or the time I put into reporting it by pretending it just magically went away. Ignoring it is one thing, nobody can do everything, but closing the ticket is actively hostile to people trying to help.
