I'm using the --share-text flag of kdeconnect-cli. That pushes a string to the mobile's clipboard without having to enable clipboard sync. Combine that with xsel on a hotkey and it's almost as convenient but doesn't expose your clipboard all the time.
This stuff is why I briefly tried out clipboard sync with @kdeconnect some time ago, loved how handy it was, then immediately decided there was no way in hell I was ever actually using it.

iOS 14 catches apps spying on your clipboard.
Some apps access whatever you copied, silently, just by opening the app. The new iOS feature catches them in the act by notifying you.

I'm using QR Codes. I've also set everything to "copy to clipboard" within the app. URLs copy to clipboard, GPO coordinates copy to clipboard, Wifi connect qr codes copy to clipboard, ... Quite handy but it is hard to find a qr code app that works without sending it to google...
