Wondering how the Apple ARM transition is going to affect huge plug-in ecosystems, like DAWs and VSTs. This could go very poorly, with the effective loss of anything that isn't being actively developed and/or having to re-buy everything for ARM...
But 32->64 at least runs both on the same CPU with no overhead, so you can just have both and let users move once enough of their ecosystem has moved over. Rosetta will have more overhead...

Just remembered Mach O fat binaries are a thing. I think modern apps have lacked ppc support for a while, but at least there is a container format already in use for dual arch support. Best case is VSTs will be recompiled with x64 and ARMv8 (and maybe older ARM ISAs), right?
