This is libyuv's gross upscaling, you'll get it on Chromium too on software paths. The difference is that Chromium defaults to its OpenGL path on Linux, whereas Firefox doesn't.

Yes, via the OpenGL composition path (layers.acceleration.force-enabled = true) or via the Webrender path (gfx.webrender.all = true). Both need a browser restart. Someday, one of them will be default...
