In the US major surgeries for cancer patients & the like are being pushed back 6+ months since COVID cases are flooding hospitals. Doctors are urging people to wear masks & not be selfish because there’s people w/ long term, painful, fatal diseases that need to be taken care of.
I'll admit that it took COVID to make wearing masks completely normal for me in Japan. I'd done it a few times when I got a cold in the past, but not most of them, and didn't keep a stock. When I got a runny nose last day or 2 of my visit in October I tried but the mask makes blowing one's nose difficult....
