2000 was the last Microsoft OS I had natively installed until Win 10, and the last one I used as a primary OS. It worked. ever just throw win2k or xp in a vm just to witness the install completing in 2 minutes and major graphical applications opening in a frame or two
I still have an XP VM somewhere... I had a legit edu license to it from college but I only ever used it in a VM (though it's changed hypervisors a few times).

I had two legit XP x64 keys this way! 2nd one was an edu license.
