Ha, Intel were *so proud* of their high throughput RDRAND, and now it turns out they leak the values all over the other cores and the microcode patch to fix it... has a 97% performance hit. Though it seems like the feature is a bad idea in the first place, so the smart move is probably to ditch it.

At least that one was just a BIOS issue, though the part where it returned *success* while delivering no randomness points to a design flaw.
