Opinions spread among people, and influence people's actions. Like that part where he says women engineers ended up on magazine covers because they're women. Words also directly do harm. Like using "tranny", which isn't just offensive but *hurtful* towards trans people.

But he is 100% right! They are on the covers because they are women because the journalists want to promote women in STEM because there are very few. Is it forbidden now to tell the truth because someone’s feelings are hurt? That’s not STEM-like. It’s about truth to gain more

Saying they got there because they're women erases their accomplishments and replaces them with their gender. Most Wired covers are men.

So? When 90%+ of the people in tech are men it’s no issue that 90%+ featured are men. There are few women who got recognized by their own as all them men have to be recognized. Stop caring about the gender so much and focus on what matters in tech: skills.

Do you realize how ridiculously fucking sexist it is to say that all men have to be recognized for their skills while only some women are? You're literally saying that women aren't good enough, yet you're the one saying gender doesn't matter?

Well, it’s true, and I don’t care it the truth is sexist or racist or anything
I say women have the same chances in tech - and there are good examples - but I also realize that women tend to be more social and men more asocial and therefore more present in tech.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

"It's true because I said so" doesn't make it true, it makes you sexist.

Also - i didn’t say women aren’t good enough or they don’t matter. They happen to be more interested in other topics
I think it’s discriminating to over represent any part of society - because what is it worth to be in tech if everyone knows you are here for the quotas?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Again, Dave *specifically* mentioned two of the most well respected women in EE tech and said they only got front page covers because they're women. Thus saying, to the world, "I think these women are not good enough".

Well, it did certainly help to be female
In Germany they demand a quote for females in boards of corporations. Every woman I know that is hard working, as everyone has to do to accomplish anything, is against it. Because it undermines every effort they put in their career.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
Again, he is *literally pointing fingers at specific woman and undermining them*. You can argue against quotas. What you can't do is literally point fingers and say "you're there because of the quota".
