Hugh? The tweets that started this thread have disappeared so I guess I'm missing some context, here. But I don't see what warrants such a reaction about that MEGA hat joke. Someone explain?

Ok I understand. That's poor taste and lack of empathy. Nevertheless, I don't think there is an ounce of racism, transphobia or misogyny in Dave Jones. He (poorly) tries to denounce "wokeness"of some on the left who have decided to replace argumentation with censorship.

Yea sure, not transphobic at all.https://twitter.com/marcan42/status/1269183530141011968?s=19 …
Timon 🛠 added,
Also the part where he won't stop using the word "tranny" knowing full well how offensive it is.

And this thread where he argues for biological reasons for women to be less interested in STEM, and that women in tech get in the news because they're women, not because of their accomplishments.https://twitter.com/new299/status/1269199976548036609 …
Hector Martin added,
I may be proved wrong but I see a fine line here. Not believing in gender studies does not mean transphobic. He argues about women in tech, based on (flawed) research. He believes in free speech. I disagree with his conclusions. That does not make him racist/misogynic/transphobic
It's not just the "research". He's literally saying Limor Fried and Jeri Ellsworth only get articles because they're women. In another forum thread he tells a trans person to suck it up and accept he gets to use a trans slur as a name for transistors.
