Okay, Google Translate just turned something into a suicidal thought erroneously and I need an extension to use DeepL for Twitter now. I'm kind of tired of just how bad Google Translate is when translating actual words from actual people.

we feel the machine-learning crowdsourced gooble translate is manifestly worse than it was about a decade ago, all of the translations sound like they’ve been roundtripped through five other languages along the way

I found a chrome extension that does something similar to what you want. It translates any highlighted text via a right click option.
