Well, it kind of seems like child abuse to me too to let a flighty eleven-year-old decide what sex they're going to be, and to prescribe drugs that likely will damage their chance of ever reproducing. Have you actually validated any of the science here yourself?

The controversy isn't about the medical issues, it's just thinly veiled transphobia, driven by alarmist stories and falsehoods, like the one you believed about hormone blockers causing reproductive issues, or nonsense about "cutting kids' dicks off".
-
Literally the only thing we're trying to do here is *allow* kids to *have* a chance at avoiding or reducing lifelong body dysphoria and the need for much more dangerous surgeries later on, using a *reversible* treatment.

So how much time is "enough"? (I can well believe that a year of delay is fine, given that puberty varies more than that with nutrition; but I've known plenty of people to dither longer than that over much less consequential decisions.)
-
It depends on the person. The whole point of the treatment is to delay *longer* than the normal start of puberty so that the person has more time to mature and solidify their identity. And that it is safe to do so. Do you have evidence that it isn't safe?
