OK, your ER-X story beats mine from today. [Discovering that the PoE it implements is not one of the four recognized/incompatible standards versions we already had, no, Ubiquity had to go and make their own fifth. At least the 48V feed didn't fry it.]

[the previous one is that it will let you name an admin login 'root', but it will not let you log into it, because root is undocumentedly special. That only took a few hours of headscratching]

I had software problems with IPv6 stack too... the default OpenWrt DHCP client/ICMP forwarder forwards ICMPv6-RA with Unique Local Addresses which is apparently allowed by the RFC but macOS ignores anything but Link Local Addresses.

The workaround was to disable ULA which worked well enough to effectively destroy my motivation to contribute a fix to upstream.
