I ditched the official software and just used Inkscape. There's no magic to printing CD labels, you just need to set the printer settings properly to CD print mode, then use trial and error to align the print circle (and mask off to white everything outside the printable area).

Note that I was on Windows (the Linux drivers can do CD print mode too but IIRC they had alignment issues and I wanted a known good baseline). Not sure about OSX.
