I tried to use Adobe Illustrator today. This was a mistake. I spent **one hour** trying to fix a stray/misaligned anchor in a mesh object's edge before I gave up. No amount of Googling explained what the fuck was going on.

Here is a video of the issue. This is an AI file I received from a designer. This is my first time editing with AI, but I am familiar with other vector editors and was expecting a 5 minute fix to make the side of this mesh a perfect vertical line. This behavior baffled me.pic.twitter.com/ZpIasDE3Iz

It seems there are somehow hidden anchors that only become visible on hover, which behave strangely, and which I can't drag into alignment or adjust the handles of. I'm at a loss as to what's going on here. I spent an hour trying things and searching the internet to no avail.

Additionally, as a separate issue, I made a PNG export (Export for Screens) and the resulting files had some strange transparent holes. These holes are not part of the geometry and do not appear in AI. They seem to be an export bug.pic.twitter.com/ANiDKQ4Npr
