honestly they don't even work that well on SOIC flashes. certainly not in five minutes. I mean, you've tried using them, right?
I haven't, I solder wires. I don't need more failure modes in my experiments. And besides, SOIC is so damn trivial to solder to.
so if you ever get tempted to, keep soldering wires. you CAN get them to contact the flash... usually on the third try, after you waste fifteen minutes figuring out why the heck none of your stuff works and that's brand name clips. knockoffs are far worse
In practice with many devices attempting to connect the flash programmer with a SOIC clip will inevitably power up the rest of the board, not only the flash chip, and either the programmer or the board will behave badly.
