I speak 4 different languages, and I can't even begin to express the number of sentences that can't be translated not just literally, but even sorta close

No kidding. And then you add expressions/humor/false friends/tenses that are unique to one of the two languages... I'm just happy my partner knows what the heck I'm taking about when I still say 'Give them an inch and they'll take the whole arm'.

I was part of a fan translation of a game and can say it's hard work. Sometimes you get stuck for so long, even though you think you know the language and can understand what's going on. At the end of the days and end of the project I (and I think everyone else) was so exhausted
