Consider that you're coming off as extremely entitled by quote-tweeting the maintainer of an open source project and trying to shame them for not fixing your issue. "I had some plans to contribute" is sort of irrelevant too.

Have you read my thread? I'm not shaming them for not fixing my issue, I'm shaming them for not acknowledging the issue, which is *completely* different. I have no problem with ffmpeg having bad codecs. I have a problem with the ffmpeg devs saying their bad codecs are good.

There's a reason that libav forked from ffmpeg... but then there wasn't enough developer traction to keep it going.
-
The fact that libav did not merge back fixes from FFmpeg, but FFmpeg merged back fixes from libav, pretty much guaranteed libav was doomed from the beginning.

If this is about video codec. It is already done.
-
"It" isn't about a video codec, and why would you think you know what "it" is, much less be so certain that "it" is already done? I have *no* idea what you're talking about here.

I find you exceptionally rude to the devs providing this service to you. You dive straight in with a really bad attitude. Embarrassing to say the least. They be good not accepting any PR from you. You should be banned from all open source software.
-
The devs were exceptionally rude to me in the past regarding this issue (and to other users). I am being significantly more civil here than they were and are. I have no problems contributing to friendly and welcoming open source projects that actually care about their users.

Looks like nothing's changed in the last 10 years or so…

Didn’t this kind of thing have something to do with why ffmpeg got forked a few years back?
