I love the series’ attention to real time sound generation and effects. I love the in-game instruments! Also, Animal Crossing’s music used to be MIDI-like files + very small samples (or even oscillators, but I’m not sure). On WW/CF the only PCM file was the title screen theme.
Also not just the character themes and bells and stuff, but also door chimes and other subtle sounds seem to be based on whatever island melody you set.

Yes! I love hearing my own stripped down version of Gymnopedie 1 everywhere I go. Btw, the Able Sisters chime is veeery subtle, almost unnoticeable. I wish they allowed more musical expression in the game, like chromatic scales and instrument control... (idea for a mod)
