If it helps, one of my splitters came with the WiFi adapter (BRP069A41) and I can take pics of the internals. Also, at the time I had a quick look on GitHub and there's code for the TCP API, which seemed okay. So, you could just get a Daikin adapter.
I could just get a Daikin adapter, but that would cost something like 10 times as much as just sticking an ESP8266 in the thing :-)
