By tax office standards, the Japanese tax website (which basically guides you through filling out the PDF forms if you don't have e-tax credentials) is quite reasonable. Once you've done it once it's just typing in this year's numbers and next next next.
It could be better, of course, but TBH I can take 30 minutes of clicking next and filling in a few numbers and cross checking against last year's return every year. I moved last year and it just asked me for my address once, and it then prompted me to propagate that everywhere.
Note that this is as a freelancer. If you have a single employer like most people, taxes are calculated and deducted for you and you don't have to file at all unless you have other income or special deductions.
