honestly I should learn COBOL if it's literally anything like anything else in tech I've ever done, it'll be easy and apparently it pays big bux because nobody knows it (and people are afraid to learn I guess)
I did the IBM master the mainframe thing like a decade ago and ISTR I wrote one COBOL program, but I seem to have purged all the details from memory. Probably for good reason. OTOH mainframe assembler is amazing. There's an instruction that's the moral equivalent of sprintf.
