Has anyone noticed a problem with @AnkerOfficial chargers and USB 3 Type A cables? I just tried 3 different cables (one Anker) on 2 different Anker chargers, and they all have the same issue: they stop making contact if you plug them *all the way in*.
Obviously USB 3 Type A cables add the SS pins near the back and thus reduce the contact region for the VBus pins. According to the USB3 spec, they should reach in at least 5.55mm worst case. According to the USB2 spec, the contact point should be at most 5.23mm out from the rear.pic.twitter.com/uapcx0bNLp
So Anker is violating the USB specs here, if this doesn't work. Given that this happens with at least one Anker cable and Anker chargers, @AnkerOfficial, what gives?
I can reproduce this with the Anker PowerPort+ 5 USB-C (A2053) and the Anker PowerLine+ USB-C & USB-A 3.0 Cable (AK-A8168091).
Fixed it by pushing the pins slightly into the receptacle... but really, something's fishy here.
