ever since the pandemic started i have had my printer/scanner work nearly flawlessly on debian linux, so my working theory is that there is a constant amount of evil in the world and linux printing was just -that- bad

Conversely, my scanner stopped working right about when the pandemic started and I still haven't figured out why.
The answer, by the way, was @gentoo package maintainers version bumping packages without the slightest care about what they're actually doing.
