Docs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gn6oaT5Ib7CytvlZHacmrSbVBJsD9t_-kmvjd7nUR6o/edit# … Apparently current sample silicon runs at up to 390MHz, because that's where the PLL craps out before the logic does. Oh yeah and the Verilog is open source.

People did fake single-ended USB on Propeller 1? Yeah, this one does it properly. At the bit level, of course.pic.twitter.com/AOtMaif7sa

You thought that Thumb-2 IT instruction stuff was cute? Try this version. It even handles subroutines atomically.pic.twitter.com/rEt4NSjBEp

Look, you need to learn to stop calling this a "pixel mixer" and start calling it 4x8b SIMD.pic.twitter.com/eE4rc5e3dR

Native DVI/HDMI. Yes, really. Don't worry, it does NTSC/PAL modulation too, you retro folks.pic.twitter.com/vOl4ORSzXQ

Correction: I don't think the Verilog is open source (though they have bitstreams up for running it on some FPGA boards, misnomered as "verilog"). The Propeller 1 verilog is GPL'ed; I'm not sure if they plan on opening Propeller 2, but I'm guessing they eventually will?

I've been waiting for the P2 to release since almost the beginning. A P1 Demo Board was the first embedded platform I ever used. Even the P1 was an impressive little uC, especially at the time. Mine met its end when I learned the life lesson that "Vcc" and "DCin" are not equal.

We almost had the P2 several years earlier, but they had to change chip fab at the last second -- the chips didn't work at all, despite supposedly being at the same manufacturing node.
