I like that 1. mini-PCIe CF card adapters exist 2. they have to mount the connector sideways... BECAUSE THERE'S NOT ENOUGH ROOM OTHERWISEpic.twitter.com/9oxkcqmcFk

there's also a compact flash hat for the raspberry pi naturally it's just USB. this is really just a weird-shapped USB CF adapter like you could buy for 8$ on amazonpic.twitter.com/B9pjZJPbum
this one is definitely for diagnostic reasons but it opens up the idea that is great and terrible: what about internal PCI(e) cards with DISPLAYS ON THEM?pic.twitter.com/fjUMdbqSyH
this one is a little weird. It's an internally mounted serial port, but it doesn't use the serial port header... it uses the internal USB header, because it's actually just a USB-to-serial adapter.pic.twitter.com/flYJniUAFu
I dunno why you'd use that when you can just use M.2 to serialpic.twitter.com/fEWYE0UAuD
although only a fool would buy that one when you can get DUAL SERIAL m.2pic.twitter.com/mYxCW1hAGf
unless you want to live deliciously and go up to FOUR SERIAL PORTSpic.twitter.com/Lo3LfTCDQP
although if you really want to live the Real Life, you might want to consider... m.2 CANBUS! Have you ever wanted to interface with the network running your car from an m.2 slot? if so, go to jail. but not before buying this!pic.twitter.com/7tvsVVUfKa
there's not really any specific reason why this shouldn't exist, but I've never seen one until now, so it disturbs me a little. A PCI PS/2 card?pic.twitter.com/TjNv7I6sDb
if USB is just too slow for your SD cards, why not PCIe SD cards?pic.twitter.com/5neGHG8cHo
There's actually a good technical reason to get one of these: because most PCIe SD interfaces are proper SD card hosts that let you speak the SDMMC protocol and do things like access boot blocks, send raw SD commands, or talk to SDIO. USB readers just translate to mass storage.
