have you ever wanted to mount an m.2 SSD in something that looks like it's supposed to be a medieval torture device?pic.twitter.com/zZsMlGUuyL
PCIe DOM! this is an SSD. But rather than bother with anything like cables or connectors, you just plug it right into an PCIe slot and BAM, storage.pic.twitter.com/3v6VKAaPPd
these are related to the older SATA DOMs.pic.twitter.com/gf17i9k5Kg
It’s PCIe, it does provide an adequate power for some flash storage. I am, however, confused by the SATA one.
It have a pin connector plugged into the motherboard to give power
Some SATA DOMs use customized SATA connectors with side pins for power. Yes, it's cursed.
Those yellow ones in particular. https://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/SATADOM.cfm …
