Can we please stop talking about that sudo bug? It only affects systems using an insane configuration (allow $command as anyone *but* root). I can't come up with any situation where that configuration makes any sense (vs e.g. "allow $command as any member of a given group).
Make sure testuser really is a normal user and isn't in e.g. any groups that grant it general sudo privileges.

That for sure was the case... I made a new user specifically for the test. It’s a Kali VM, so there weren’t any non-root users prior to me messing around. However, I was also at work and multitasking, so it’s very possible I copypasta’d sloppily.

Just went back and re-did everything... and yeah, it failed. The Kali sudoers file has root ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL I probably changed it to (ALL:www-data), which is just ALL. Thanks for the correction. :)
