Stuff like Wii/GameCube yes rely on a laser-cut BCA (readable barcode) and laser-created marks that cause errors in the bitstream. Actually encoding physical copy protection schemes in an archival format is extremely difficult.

At least for DVD there's significant freedom in which DC balance strategies to use. One could devise a copy protection based on this... so I'd think a format that stores each revolution of NRZ data with sufficient metadata ("absolute position", "tracking error modulation")... 1/2

...should be able to store all currently figured-out copy protection mechanisms, including BCA and even IPFI barcode / other art. Difficulty may be reading some of this data without tracking loss. (2/2)
