We really, really need to put the brakes on government using AI/algorithms to make decisions as a cost saving measure. I mean I just used it on a DM (*I* wrote - I use it to sanity check my Japanese) and it completely ate an entire phrase. Who the hell thinks it's even remotely suitable for vetting people?

At least it seems they fixed the thing where autosuggest for just about *any* trivial but of Japanese brought up lines from hentai. Seriously. That was going on for weeks.

Oh, I think it could have its place -- say, as a first pass through documents to see which ones are worth a closer look. The real arrogance here is in the initial assumption that there's any good way at all to "vet" random people from random parts of the world.
