Call me when the FSF isn't actively hurting the cause for hardware freedon by having bass-ackwards certification rules that result in designs where non-free parts are made invisible and untouchable and unfreeable.

I've never liked RMS because of his, frankly, insane views on freedom, I fully agree with him that people should be able to know what's running on their systems, but not at the expense of programmer freedom.
-
The only freedom that matters to RMS is RMS's freedom. Everything that doesn't apply to his specific case is unnecessary at best, antithetical at worst.

What else do we have? Linux Foundation: corporate shills Software Freedom Conservancy: dumbass lawyers mad at zfs GNOME foundation: bankrupt lol Apache Foundation: ????????????? Mozilla Foundation: webshits who want to put ring0 inside JS but all the numbers replaced with emoji

rms wasn't really stopping any of those from carrying the movement, but as it turns out they'd rather have corporate dinners than a mission. I don't like rms either, but even ignoring the FSF the movement is in a sad state.

How is RMS a hindrance to the free software movement when it comes to licensing? Did he do something to the GPL that causes an issue?
-
Not the GPL itself (though you can argue about its less than ideal features), but e.g. there is a horrible hack in libgcc licensing that is designed to impose some bizarre requirements on the way you compile software with GCC if you don't want your binary to automatically be GPL.

I stopped paying attention to him after I saw the vid of him eating dead skin off his foot. People like him are the reason why freely available computer code is such a mess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I25UeVXrEHQ …

What the fuck I used to respect this man
