ugh. I haven't looked up IPS and how it works until now. I was actually asking around for a patch format a while back and couldn't find one, and I didn't want to use IPS because of the association with console ROMs but good lord, I'm glad I didn't.

how much longer would it have taken to have IPS implement a flag for headered/unheadered? or a "CRC of the data we're replacing" that'd both detect errors and let you automatically determine if it was being applied correctly? 5, 10 minutes?

Wait, am I reading it right that IPS does not support patching data starting at address 0x454f46? You'd need to go one byte earlier to make it work? I don't even.
