My main laptop/workstation is getting long in the tooth (7+ years), but for my next machine I want AMD to come up with 6+ core APUs and someone to stick one in a laptop with Thunderbolt... (or at least give me FireWire and/or ExpressCard, but I guess those are dead)
The sad thing is to get FireWire as far as I can tell the only reasonable option is daisy-chaining two Apple adapters, FW800 -> TB2 -> TB3. (Or using a PCIe box but that's more annoying)
It seems nobody makes a TB3 to FireWire adapter and that makes me sad.
I haven’t been able to get the Apple TB2<->TB3 adaptor to work under Linux. :(
