The sad thing is to get FireWire as far as I can tell the only reasonable option is daisy-chaining two Apple adapters, FW800 -> TB2 -> TB3. (Or using a PCIe box but that's more annoying)

Current APUs (well, cpus with "G" in the model name suffix) seem limited to 4 cores, and looks like it'll be the case at least until next year.

They have better GPUs in their APUs than intel, and I don't really want a discrete card.
