@marcan42 if you had to extract a big file from a qemu-system instance with a minimal Linux kernel to the host system, what would you suggest?
minimal=? Do you have virtio drivers? Some other Ethernet driver? 8250 serial? Can you put some binary in?

I can control most of it. Didn't set up networking for it though. 8250 serial is how I exported the ftrace data at the end. Now need to figure out if I want to try fiddling with running my glucometertools inside the VM or just wait for my kernel patchset to reach opensuse…

I was thinking you could dump chunks into a tmpfs and then mmap them and pull out the pagetable (there's a file in /proc for that) and feed just page numbers to the host and have it read them from vm mem. But it's probably overkill if 8250 works.
