What shop did you find this at? I often find myself getting headaches going shopping in my corner of Japan, wonder if they're doing it here too. (p.s. what app did you use for the screenshot?)

They're all over the place, e.g. the McDonalds near the west side of Shinjuku station, a datacenter building I go to for work, and tons more. I just passed one near Yokohama. At those frequencies it sounds less like a tone and more like a pain/pressure.

Going around Shibuya is a pain for this very reason. I'm surprised though that younger people, i.e. most of the people in the streets, seem unaffected as well...
