Finally placing one of the two brains of the Glasgow.
@lattice iCE40HX8K FPGA! The fact that it has an open source toolchain is what makes the whole project work. Te framework synthesizes new bitstreams on the fly! Imagine installing a proprietary toolchain to use a debug tool...pic.twitter.com/RVhR2NBRDg

Finally! Many hours later all parts are placed on the Glasgow! I forget how much slower the meatbag PnP is compared to the real one. If only the setup of the real PnP would be less time consuming I would use it for prototypes too. I did save some time doing a "hybrid" approach :Dpic.twitter.com/phZUnXE8p5

The black on white looks really nice do you know if this is how it was intended? Mine are green on white, boring.

We didn't specify silkscreen color, but the art on the back side is intended for light-on-dark silkscreen, so black on white looks weird (but kind of funny).

I see! For the main production I will either have to redraw the picture using only outlines so that it works on dark and light backgrounds. (I do like the white boards a lot) or drop her from the boards as there might be a copyright issue anyways. It is not set in stone yet.

I can swap the colors/fills to make the image work on reversed colors, then we'd have two versions of that Gerber depending on silk color :-)
