Looks like you have some retraction/heating issues. Are you retracting filament on Z+ movements? Are you using Z movements on XY movements?
My issue was that the extruder stepper had worked itself loose and the screws were undone by like 6mm before the gear started skipping and I noticed the noise (too late, it seems).

If you're printer is calibrated well enough I like lowering layer height on the verticals like the posts there. I find they adhere better with slower movement speed also (filament depending)

IME they end up overcooked in PLA, so printing them with another part on the bed also is a decent idea to allow cooling.
