I'm the same, but interestingly it's not an exact copy. It *feels* like an exact copy, but if I sit down and actually try to analyze a song and copy it in a synthesizer, I often find I've been picking up (and audiating) some parts wrong.

I must say it took a lot of conscious effort for me to switch off the constant internal monologue, in words, when I was serious about doing the mental experiments I mentioned, sometime before my twenties. Once I did it, I think it actually changed my mental process by a lot
