As for support, several Ghidra GitHub issues have been closed as fixed by NSA employees already (pending release of the next version). So yes, they do offer support!

Open Source is often a dumpster. Spent the first ten years wooowing over O.S.S. the next ten vomitting. O.S.S. is not viable unless there are lot of resources dedicated to it and/or people work for free. It delivers cool projects, patches are faster but there are gaps as well.
