Yeah, the money has gone to their heads. They are literally corroding and undoing what they set out to do in the first place.
I see Raspberry Pi is going full Apple fast. First "Made for Raspberry Pi" DRM, now a physical bling store. I'm calling it: they will eventually start fusing the SoCs for secure boot of signed VideoCore blobs only.

It doesn't really matter as there are other SBCs out there and panfrost open source mali gpu drivers will be ready in a few months. Raspberry Pis will then be pointless as the specs can't compete.
