I'm at a point in a project where hacking some firmware was easy, but resizing a FAT32 partition is turning out to be impossible.

That's what I ended up doing, and it worked. The goal was to replicate the original storage as closely as possible though, so I wasn't sure if that might introduce a problematic difference.
Also 128GB -> 1.5TB. Sometimes there are sad reasons to use FAT32 on volumes this big...

Oh. Cluster sizes will need to be enlarged. Try doing that first and then expanding the file system.
