Trying to hook up my old Canon 7D to my PC - turns out you need a piece of software only available on the original disc (I got this camera 7 years ago).
Even their support team doesn't have access to the download link... what? @CanonUKandIE step your game up.

Or you can just use a third-party tool, there are plenty.
I just tried it for my 600D and it works just fine. It doesn't even care what serial you enter, you can just use 000000000001 to download it. I'm not sure what the fuss is about, it took me 5 minutes to Google this.

Thanks for the link, though this doesn't work in the UK (without using a VPN) - I found a copy of it online, though my ranting is more that even their official UK phone support can't provide access to the download.

I asked a friend in the UK to try the equivalent UK page ( https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/cameras/digital_slr/eos_7d.aspx?type=software&language=&os=Windows%208.1%20%2832-bit%29 … which is the first result for Googling 'canon 7D downloads UK') and it worked fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
