      I think there’s a reasonable amount of misinformation in that thread. I have a document somewhere describing the protocol, it seemed pretty straightforward. A company called physics surplus sells the same module (at significant markup), the software they supply works with mine.

          They can be aligned to cover the full visual spectrum with reasonable resolution (see the physic surplus page for alignment info). I’ve done that on one.
