Is it weird that when I see some code carefully construct the three bytes "01 00 01" I immediately get alarm bells in my head saying "RSA RSA RSA RSA"?

Hardware processing bignums is still an abstraction on top of it's word size. I didn't say it was impossible I said there is an **assumption** as I don't know where the string of hexadecimal came from. Also 24bit word something like the SDS 9 Series from 1962.
