Well, they only limit whether the specific tuning is available. You can still make camera modules and attach other devices. I can’t find reasons to get really outraged.

They limit whether you can use an entire driver (the VideoCore-backed one). You can make camera modules and use the raw CSI driver and write your own image processing stack, but it can't use offloading like theirs and you have to roll your own everything. Not cool.
