TIL that if I let this lighter build voltage a little and then ignite within 4ft of a monitor, it'll cause the monitor to flicker and/or black out for 2-3 seconds. Kinda scared me so I googled it. I'm also curious as to why this only happens on the left monitor. Both my left and right monitors in this scenario are identical and were purchased at the same time. Both using HDMI too.

Try near the same spot on both. Could be proximity to a specific component

Or the cable, or the input, or even the output at the PC side could be a factor. Could be lots of things :-)
